History in the beginning – God the Father
History tells us something. It brings attention to what is important. If you ever ask this question: ‘Are You There God?’ The answer is YES! Why do I say so? Let me explain. Simply put, God wants you to know: ‘I’ve always been there and has never left.’
Throughout history, God was there. Remember, in the beginning, God was there. We read in the book of John and learn that in the beginning John Chapter 1:1 says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” There He was!
We also learn in that same verse, the WORD was with God. Who is it? Later in the history we learn the death of Jesus. Who is Jesus? He is the Son of God. We learn that Jesus died on the Cross. What did Jesus say? He said: “ I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
History in the midst – God the Son
Jesus went further to say in Romans 10:9, “ if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Do you truly believe that when Jesus died on the Cross, He died to set you free?
When you should be dead, in your sins, because the wages of sins is death. Jesus died so that your sins are forgiven and you are made right before God because through His blood you are saved. Then I learn that the WORD was referring to Jesus.
Did Jesus remain dead? No! It was recorded in the Bible that on the third day after His death, He resurrected. He came back to life. He appeared to many and He finally ascended to Heaven to be with God. Before He left, Jesus promised a helper. Who is He?
History to the end – God the Holy Spirit
Are you getting the picture? God the Holy Spirit whom Jesus promised, is here to stay, in you. All throughout time God has never left. He was there all along! What’s the work of the Holy Spirit you ask?
The helper that Jesus promised to come along and guide you to live a life that is pleasing to God. Only a life that is surrendered to the Holy Spirit and entrusted to Him will know Him and understand the things of God.
God is with you as you walk closely with the Holy Spirit. Until how long you ask? Until the end of age. Until the day you leave this earth to be with God the Father and God the Son. Are you alone? God has never left.
In Conclusion
I hope you are encouraged today that God has been there for you throughout time. At the same time, He can be trusted to be with you all the way. Has God ever leave? The answer is simple, NO! He has never left. Will He leave you?
The Bible says: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
