According to Dr. Vance Havner’s wise quote: “God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.” Brokenness is the new beauty in this century.
Nobody likes to remain in brokenness for a long time. In fact it is hated and despised. Yet, when the broken pieces are placed in God’s mighty hands, He moulds it, shapes it and makes it into something beautiful. Do not be afraid when you are broken. God has something beautiful to work on you because you are His vessel, His masterpiece.
Have you looked behind a tapestry Art masterpiece lately? Simply looking at the back of a tapestry you would not appreciate it or even comprehend the masterpiece. You may even devalue its worth by just looking from the back of the art piece. But, the moment you turn it over, you realize how wrong you are to despise it. A masterpiece appears right before your eyes. That is how often God uses our brokenness and makes it into something wonderful and beautiful in our lives. If you think you are broken for some reasons beyond what you can comprehend today? Give it to God and leave it in His mighty hands. He is pleased to work through it. Remember He is the potter and you are His clay. Let Him have it all.
