How can I be the light that reveals You, not me Lord Jesus? Remember this prayer? The only answer to this prayer lies in our journey as we begin searching deep in our hearts. It’s not enough to search deep within us. We need to ask God to search deep within our hearts, what we are, deep inside.
Search me, God, and know my heart. Who is the best person to search our hearts than God? He who is our creator and Abba Father. Then you ask: ‘Doesn’t God know us since we are His creations? ‘Why then do we need to ask Him?’
The only reason why we seek God to search our hearts is because we often time excuse our wrongs. It’s so easy to point a finger at others’ faults. But, when it’s time to check ourselves, we refuse to face what’s really going on in our hearts.
Be ready when you ask God to search your heart. God will show what’s really going on inside where no man sees. Yet, you know, He will make new what’s broken. He will heal what’s wounded, He will restore what’s needed because of our wrong doings if only we let Him.
Test me and know my anxious thoughts. We do not only ask God to search our hearts, we ask God to test our thoughts. If there are any fears holding us back from giving Him our all, we need to surrender them to Him. Let Him have it all.
All fears except the fear of God is from the devil. Remember perfect love casts out fear? And God is love. The only way to live fearlessly is to love God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind (Luke 10:27).
See if there is any offensive way in me, oh Lord. Change me! Make me new again. The only way to live right is to live to please Him. Our sins we keep, offend God. We need to say ‘No!’ to our sins, and say ‘Yes!’ to Jesus. Our repentance pleases God.
And lead me in the way everlasting. Lead me Lord Jesus. Guide me to know Your Will. Teach me to follow You all the days of my life.
When we live to put God first, our want do not matter any more. When we ask God to break us, He will. Not to harm us, but to save us. Not to destroy us but to build us. Not to leave us hopeless, but to give us a new hope, a new life.
The only light that reveals Jesus, not you, is to ask God to break you and then pour you out so others will see Jesus and taste the goodness of God through you. All for Your glory, Lord Jesus!
