We are good-by nature. Compared to murderers, rapiers, adulterous, robbers, we feel we are good. We deserve being\u00a0good because we do not cause bodily harm to any one by our actions. Is that true? What about the &#8216;unseen&#8217; destruction following our selfish decisions? Emotional torment, verbal abuse, the selfish manipulations we deliberately used to get what we want, rejection, destructive remarks? How often we defend or\u00a0prove them.. to make ourselves feel good? Are we perfect? No, absolutely not!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Can we at this point, acknowledge that we are not perfect and we do sin against our loved ones, our communities? Have you ever wonder who else we often offend and yet unaware of\u00a0 it? Denial of God&#8217;s presence is rejecting God who creates our beings. Is rejecting God a sin? Yes! The Bible says we can grief the Holy Spirit (Ephesian 4:30). Can we ever be forgiven?<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Story of John Newton<\/strong>[cincopa AkDAajKtnlkQ]<\/h3>\n<p>Let me introduce you to a man named <a title=\"Story of John Newton\" href=\"http:\/\/www.snopes.com\/religion\/amazing.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Newton<\/a>. He was a captain of a slave ship in the 1880s. A slave trader who later became a minister. He called himself &#8220;a great sinner&#8221;. Later in his life, he wrote a beautiful hymn entitled<a title=\"Amazing Grace\" href=\"http:\/\/www.joyfulheart.com\/misc\/newton.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Amazing Grace<\/a>. Does he deserve forgiveness and be saved? The Bible says in 1John 1:9<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In the eyes of God, there are no degrees of sinners, just sinners.\u00a0 The Bible says: &#8220;For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God&#8221;! (Romans 3:23) We need to come before God and be made right with Him and that was what John Newton did! Sometimes, in the truest moment of sorrow, it could birth forth something truly great like this song that John Newton wrote later in his life.
