Who Is King Herod The Great?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you follow our story, you may remember we promise a historical figure enters as the highlight of tonight’s show. Have you heard of King Herod the Great? Tonight, King Herod enters the stage.<\/h2>\n

King Herod<\/p><\/div>\n

According to the Book of Matthew chapter 2: 1:8,<\/p>\n

After Jesus was born Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

When King Herod heard this, he got scared\u00a0and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called all together the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born. “In Bethlehem in Judea, they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 “But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, you would think King Herod kept his word, since he was the King, right? The truth was.. he planned to find the baby to kill him before the prophecy could come to fruition. (Matthew 2:16-18)<\/p>\n

What a spectacular event<\/a><\/strong> that happened around the birth of Jesus’ time! A King interfered and planned to get rid of the Messiah as promised from the prophecy. If King Herod had not believed that the Messiah<\/a><\/strong> was born right at his reign, he would not have tried to look for him and attempted to murder the child.<\/p>\n

God Redirected Joseph And His Family To Egypt.<\/p><\/div>\n

God Intervene<\/strong><\/p>\n

But, God knew just what to do.He changed the plan. He sent an Angel through a dream to redirect Joseph’s family to Egypt and they stayed in Egypt until King Herod died. Can we say that God was in control? Yes!<\/h3>\n

Till this day, God is still in control. Everything that ever happened, God knew and are still in control. Isn’t it a comfort to know that God is still in control today?<\/p>\n
