Garden Weeds – Spiritual Truths<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Spring is the best time to start our gardening project, right? We get absolutely excited about the new vegetable garden we’ve planned for the entire winter and we are so ready to begin. Oh wow.. the spring is here, and we can’t wait to look at our vegetable plot and lo and behold, we discover the vegetable plot is\u00a0 totally covered and taken over by the garden weeds. Have this happened to you before? Do you like garden weeds? Removing the weeds is a painful task for most gardeners.\u00a0 Is it fair for me to end that most gardeners do not like weeds? While I’m here to write about some interesting facts about garden weeds, I would like to also bring your attention to some spiritual truths using garden weeds which I believe God had taught me through the years I’ve been interested in gardening.\u00a0 I hope you will gain some important truths after reading this article. Some Fun Facts About Garden Weeds<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Before we go ahead to the spiritual truths on garden weeds, we would like you to attempt on answering all the questions below. Just some fun facts about garden weeds in trying to see how well you’ve actually known about garden weeds.

    You probably know by now some of the nature of garden weeds from the fun facts about garden weeds<\/strong>. Let me give you a break down of some facts you’ve learned about garden weeds.<\/p>\n

    Garden weeds:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. are not ugly nor unattractive. But they are not wanted or intentionally planted by the gardener either.<\/li>\n
    2. spread like ‘wild fire’ if they are not under control.<\/li>\n
    3. identified by types, species, flowers etc<\/li>\n
    4. are not easily removed<\/li>\n
    5. can choke your beloved plants or flowers if allowed without supervision<\/li>\n
    6. controllable<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Over the years as I became interested in gardening, God revealed a spiritual truth about garden weeds. If you notice the similarity between the nature of garden weeds, to the nature of\u00a0 SIN<\/strong>, you will realize garden weeds do remind us of\u00a0 SIN<\/strong>. When we think about SIN<\/strong>, why do we often\u00a0 find ourselves reluctant to give up our SIN<\/strong>? Sins are not ugly as some would consider. Generally, sins are very attractive to us, if not, why would we hang on to them? We know they are not welcomed\u00a0and yet we struggle with sins, shows an irony isn’t it? We know to sin is wrong in the eyes of\u00a0 God, yet, we often refuse to give it up for God.\u00a0 It leads me to the next question: “Which is more important to you, God or sin?” Now let us look at Exodus 20:2-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21, the Bible gives an account of the ten commandments which state clearly:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

      Examine the ten commandments, and then see which of these commandments have you violated. Have you been found guilty of violating any of these commandments? When we sin, we sin against God. Our sins are direct violation against God’s commandments. Yet there are times we do sin against one another and we seek forgiveness from each other, don’t we? Why is it that we seek forgiveness from one another and yet expect God to forgive us when we sin against Him without question?<\/p>\n

      Sin Destroys Our Lives<\/strong><\/h3>\n

      Just as\u00a0garden weeds can choke our beloved plants and flowers, so can sins. Sins are able to destroy our lives.\u00a0 Look at the acts of murder, adultery, lying, stealing. Do they ultimately lead to destruction? Yes! Therefore, the next time you choose to commit any of these sins, think about what would happen. The saddest of all, just one sin we commit, will separate us completely from God’s presence. Why? Simply because God is Holy, and He cannot tolerate any SIN in His presence. SIN leads to death, not just physically, but spiritually as well. Romans 6:23 says:<\/p>\n

      “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

      How often do we continue in our sins even knowing that sins lead to death? Now, knowing SIN leads to separation from God’s presence, and spiritual death, is life over? No, by the grace of God.\u00a0 God worked a solution\u00a0to this devastation. God Himself became in the form of a man named Jesus,\u00a0 born and to serve among men. At the age of 30, He started His ministry of\u00a0 healing, miracles, teachings, changing lives, including His closest His 12 disciples. At the age of 33, He gave His life on the Cross in exchange\u00a0 for our sins. That we may\u00a0redeem from our sins. Only the blood of Jesus can satisfy and stop the wrath of\u00a0 God, make us righteous before God the Almighty.\u00a0 If interested\u00a0to know in detail why Jesus’ death on the Cross is necessary, please read this article<\/a> that I’ve written in response to this question. Hopefully, you will see a better picture of Jesus and His death and why it’s important to know.<\/p>\n

      It does not end at His death, thankfully. On the third day after Jesus’ burial, He rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples. Later He ascended into Heaven at the right hand of God. Jesus did not leave us. He gave us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide our lives until one day He will return again to earth and bring us home to Heaven with Him forever. If you wish to know more, read the Book of John in the Bible. Attend a Bible believing church this coming Sunday and ask questions about Jesus with your christian friends. Just be sure they know who Jesus is, and they know the Bible well. There are\u00a0people who profess themselves as Christians and yet they do not know the Bible well and they do not believe in Jesus. May this Easter Sunday be a life-changing day for you and may you be truly blessed this day.<\/p>\n
