Finding God In Every Season

Finding God in Every Season: A Journey of Faith** series

Life is a beautiful tapestry of seasons—each one bringing its own challenges and blessings. Just as nature experiences spring blooms and winter stillness, our personal journeys also twist and turn through joy, sorrow, growth, and stagnation. In every season, there’s an opportunity to find God and deepen our relationship with Him.

Finding God
Are you in a season of new beginnings? What opportunities is God placing in front of you? Consider how you can embrace change and seek His guidance in this fresh season.

Embracing the Spring of New Beginnings

Spring signifies renewal, fresh starts, and vibrant change. It’s a time we often feel excited about new possibilities, just as flowers bloom after a long winter. In my own life, I recall a time when I felt stagnant in my career. I spent countless nights praying for clarity and guidance. One morning, during my quiet time with God, I felt inspired to take a leap of faith and pursue a different path. That spring, I made a career change that not only ignited my passion but also allowed me to inspire others!

The Summer of Joy and Abundance

Summer is often associated with warmth, joy, and abundance. It’s a season filled with laughter, family gatherings, and memories made under the sun. During one particularly joyful summer, I traveled on a mission trip. It was an incredible experience witnessing God’s work in the lives of others. I learned that joy is not merely about our circumstances; it’s about recognizing God’s blessings, big and small.

– What joys has God given you in this season? Whether it’s a promotion, a new friend, or simply beautiful weather, take a moment to thank Him for these gifts. Share your joys with others—let your light shine!

Navigating the Autumn of Change

Fall brings a shift in the air—the leaves turn colors, signaling change. This can be a challenging time as we often experience transitions like moving away, changing jobs, or saying goodbye to loved ones. When I faced a significant life change moving away from my childhood home, I felt lost and unsure. However, during this time of uncertainty, I leaned into prayer and found comfort in Psalm 139:9-10, which reassures us that even in our distress, God is there to guide us.

**Example to Reflect On**:

– Are you experiencing change or loss? Remember that God uses these moments to grow our faith. Reflect on how He might be preparing you for something greater. Lean in; He walks beside you.

The Winter of Silence and Waiting

Winter can feel cold and isolating. It’s a time when many people experience spiritual dryness, questioning if God is listening. I once felt far from God during a long winter season in my life where prayers felt unanswered, and I craved His presence. It was during this waiting period that I learned the importance of silence. I realized that winter wasn’t merely about absence; it was a time for deepening my roots in faith. I discovered daily moments to seek God in stillness—reading scripture or simply sitting in silence, waiting for His voice.

**Example to Reflect On**:

– In your winter season, how can you seek God in the silence? Perhaps it’s through journaling your thoughts and prayers, listening to worship music, or joining a fellowship group to encourage one another.

Conclusion: God in Every Season

As we journey through each season of life, let us remember that God is present in all of them. Whether we’re experiencing lush springs, vibrant summers, uncertain autumns, or stark winters, there’s always an opportunity to seek Him. His promise, as stated in Jeremiah 29:13, is that if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him.

May we open our hearts to His guidance, recognizing that His love sustains us no matter the season we’re in. So, whether you’re dancing in the warmth of summer sun or waiting patiently through winter’s chill, know that God is with you, inviting you to experience His presence and love in every single moment.

Let’s embrace the journey together, finding God in every season of our lives. Are you ready to seek Him today?

Do you compost?

How do you compost? What do you mean? What is compost? These are questions probably raised in your mind.
As an amateur gardener, you hear this word quite often. How does it come about? At the same time, you ask yourself why, ‘Why do you compost?’

Growing a healthy garden

If we break down the components of a garden, here we have an example of, a designated area being filled with specific soil, seedlings, plants, shrubs and bushes and tall plants. In other words, these plants are to be cultivated for their flowers and/or food either edible or non edible.

What the process look like?

Now how it turns out depends on the condition of the soil. Meanwhile, how healthy the soil is, depends on what one adds to it. Hence, it is called amendment to the soil. As you can see, the process of making the soil healthier is called composting. In short, it involves adding nutrients to the soil mixture.

Components of composting

  • food scraps
  • grass cuttings
  • cardboards
  • worms casting
  • soil
  • water

The image above shows how composting is done. So, let us take a look at this. What exactly do we add to the mix? The nutrients, for instance, are food scraps and grass cuttings, cardboard and worms castings, etc.

This entire process is called composting, thereby ensuring that the ground remains healthy to grow healthy plants.

Is composting necessary?
What a great question. If composting involves the breaking down of nutrients into their basic forms, is it good for the environment?

In my opinion, I believe no matter where science chooses or how composting presents adverse effects on greenhouse emissions, I choose it as a necessary step in my garden. According to my understanding, it is still a safer option otherwise.

In conclusion, I rather have a beautiful garden to look at than a smelly and contaminated landscape that no one appreciates. If only, all of us, take the responsibility to keep our environment beautiful and luscious, we have a beautiful city to live in.

Welcome to Backyard Treasure:

This is a blog about my journey as an immature garden enthusiast. My journey began during the COVID 19 lockdown. California was lockdown for a little over two years in 2019 to 2021.

why I do what I do

Nothing impacted lives more than those two years where the entire world came to a halt and lockdown. How COVID changed the way we would see our world was absolutely undeniable. Whether it was for better or worse, we have yet to know for sure.

One thing for sure though, COVID changed mine. I began to focus on my love for photography and passion for gardening.

It was also during that stretch of time I noticed the treasure in my front and backyard gardens. Affirming me that I was able to capture beauty both in my surroundings and trails that I traveled.

Hence, I discovered my new found love for macro photography. The insects world bring a unique perspective that I did not see before. For that, I am truly grateful.

What is my dream for this adventure? How I want to be remembered? There are moments in my life that I wonder if anyone would miss me, to be honest. Does anyone out there even know I exist? As someone who is an introvert and has no intention to mangle with people, who is more comfortable talking to animals than humans.. that pretty much sums up who I am.

Historians write about important events throughout history. In a similar fashion, my story records the world I come to know and how I want to be remembered.
