Be Resilience To Life
My mother-in-law had an amazing plant at the porch for several years now. It is one of the most resilience plants of all I know. Let me introduce you to a favorite of all humming birds in our neighborhood anyway.
Maybe some know this plant well but I am sure there are others who do not. I have the privilege to live with this amazing plant for more than 9 years now and would like to share what I learned about some surprising life lessons from it. Through this article, I will highlight some specific life lessons we can learn.
Revive Quickly
It does not take much effort to keep this beautiful plant alive. Sometimes, you watch it drooping and seemingly dying. However, with one sufficient drink from the sprinkler, it will return often without a doubt to life soon after that drink. Life is sometimes tough, but if our wish to live is stronger than giving it up than we like this lovely plant can revive quickly. Every opportunity we take to keep us going, is an opportunity to live above our circumstances.
If we give up, we deny life for ourselves. This particular plant is a true survivor even in the toughest ground.
Easy To Propagate – Resilience To Grow Freely
One of the easiest way to plant this beauty is simply to cut a piece of it and stick it to the ground with only consistent watering. It grows well without much care. In life, we resist changes. If we are open to being moved from one situation to another, we are not that despondent when life tests our strength. It is never easy when your life gets interrupted by unexpected events.
However, the flexibility gives us the strength to stay calm and not to run away from unexpected and difficult circumstances.
When The New Replace The Dead
As I see, often in this particular plant, new blooms appear shortly after the flowers appear dead. We celebrate resilience when the new replace those that are dead. On the contrary, to give up is to stop trying again and with it comes death.
We need new fresh outlook every time we get knock down. You see, new blooms bring new beginning and a glimpse of hope that comes along in it. From watching this plant often, it reminds me that I need to stay resilience no matter what life brings.
I would not be surprised if it is the reason this beautiful plant is deeply loved.
