Pursuing God

pursuing God

As Christians, we have the incredible privilege of holding the word of God, the Bible, allowing us to be ahead of our time. When we truly walk with God and listen for His voice, He equips us with discernment and understanding about what is to come.

The Intentional Pursuit of God

So, what does pursuing God require of us? First, we need to intentionally set our hearts and minds away from the distractions of this world. We must seek His presence, immerse ourselves in His Word, and attune our hearts to hear that still, small voice.

Seeking Divine Wisdom

James 1:5 reminds us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” This encourages us to actively seek God’s guidance in our lives as part of our journey in pursuing God.

Declaring Our Intentions

In response, let us boldly declare: “Here am I, Lord, use me!” With open hearts, we invite God to guide us and lead us into His plans and purposes as we pursue Him.

The Call to Discernment in Pursuing God

The wise in heart are truly discerning, as stated in Proverbs 16:21: “The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.” This wisdom is key in our ongoing efforts in pursuing God.

A Closing Prayer for Pursuing God

secret hideout with God

Heavenly Father, I thank You for the gift of Your Word and the wisdom that it brings. I ask You to fill our hearts with understanding and discernment so that we may walk in Your truth. Help us to trust in You with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us. Let our love abound in knowledge and depth of insight, guiding us to discern what is truly best.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

The Quiet Patterns

Finding your place in this world doesn’t always begin with big, life-changing moments. Often, it begins quietly—in the patterns of your days, in the little choices you make, and in the passions you return to without being told.

Sometimes, who you truly are is revealed not through grand achievements, but through the quiet persistence of what you return to day after day.

Establish a quiet routine

When my son was little, I encouraged him to put his thoughts into notes. Over time, he filled his notepad with hundreds of reflections, safely stored on his laptop, desktop, and iPad. Those notes are more than words—they are a mirror of his inner world, evidence of what captures his heart and mind. Each entry reveals a piece of him, a fragment of his unfolding journey.

The way we spend our time often speaks louder than any label or title we carry. Devoting yourself to what you love, even in small ways, is one of the easiest paths to self-discovery. It is in these rhythms—writing, creating, learning, reflecting—that we begin to uncover our place in the world.

Create defining moments

Your place is not something waiting “out there” for you to find—it is something you create, moment by moment, through the things you value and nurture. The question is not just What do I want to do? but also What am I already doing that brings me alive?

Reflection Prompt:
• Look at the way you spend your free time. What activities do you return to again and again? Which ones make you lose track of time?

Journaling Prompt:
• Write down three activities you love doing in your free time. What do these activities reveal about your values, passions, or inner self?

Devotional Message

Are you powerless to change? Has anything stirred your heart lately, or has life become so routine that nothing excites you anymore? When was the last time you clearly heard God speaking to you?

For years, I felt stuck in the same place — unmoved, unchanged. But recently, God stirred my heart again. His prompting woke me up, and I realized I had been living with what I call a heart of indifference.

What does that mean? A heart of indifference is alive in body but dead in spirit — a “walking corpse” without passion, without hope, without joy. It’s when we feel powerless to change, when we believe life is hopeless, and when we stop looking forward to anything.

But here’s the good news: change is possible. Even the smallest step forward — one new habit, one prayer whispered in faith, one moment of obedience — can open the door to transformation. Change begins when we no longer settle for hopelessness, but dare to envision what God can make new in our lives.

Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear

When you feel powerless, speak directly to your soul: “Let your faith be bigger than your fear!” Go into your secret place of prayer — your war room — and fight life’s battles first in the heavenly realm. In the strength of God, victory always begins on your knees.

Change may not come all at once, but through prayer, patience, and passion, you will begin to see new life take shape. Remember, passion is your God-given drive. Without it, you lose your spark. With it, God can redirect and transform your future.

Reflection Question

• Where in your life do you feel powerless to change, and how can you take one step of faith toward transformation this week?

Prayer

Lord, I confess that at times I have felt powerless to change. Stir my heart again, and breathe new passion into my soul. Let my faith rise above my fear, and transform me into who You created me to be. Amen

Our God Given Right

Our God Given Right

Our God-given right to free speech is challenged since internet has become the modern public square, where ideas are exchanged, movements are born, and communities are built. Platforms like Google, Apple, Facebook, and X were once celebrated for empowering ordinary people to share their voices freely. Yet today, those very companies are undermining one of our most fundamental rights by deciding who gets to speak, what gets to be heard, and in many cases, who must pay for that privilege.

Free Speech: Our God-Given right

Our God Given Right

Our God Given Right

freedom of expression is a fundamental, inalienable part of human nature that pre-dates government.

This growing pattern of censorship and monetization is deeply troubling. While private corporations are not bound by the First Amendment in the same way governments are, they nonetheless wield immense influence over public discourse. By filtering, throttling, or outright silencing voices, they are not simply moderating content—they are reshaping the boundaries of free speech itself.

At its core, the right to speak one’s mind is not just a constitutional guarantee—it is a God-given right, inherent to every human being. Governments and corporations alike should treat this right with respect, not as a commodity to be restricted or sold. Yet today, Big Tech seems to be creating a two-tier system of speech: one for those who can pay, and another for those who cannot.

Free speech: Supposed to be free, not hidden behind a paywall.

And this raises a serious question: are only the wealthy entitled to be heard? Families across the country are already struggling to make ends meet. No one should ever be forced to weigh the cost of putting food on the table against the cost of having a voice online. Free speech is supposed to be free, not hidden behind a paywall.

When speech becomes something money can buy, society loses more than fairness—we lose truth itself. A healthy democracy relies on the free exchange of ideas, even unpopular ones. Silencing or pricing out ordinary voices means fewer perspectives, less accountability, and ultimately, less freedom.

Free Speech: Censorship is dangerous

For those who have personally felt the sting of censorship, the issue is not abstract. It is the feeling of being pushed to the margins, told that your thoughts and experiences do not matter. This is not just disappointing—it is dangerous.

The internet should expand our freedoms, not shrink them. If we allow corporations to redefine expression as a product rather than a right, we risk losing the very foundation of democracy. It is time to demand better: transparency in policies, fairness in reach, and a recommitment to protecting the voices of all people, not just the privileged few.

Because in the end, free speech isn’t truly free until everyone has a voice

Finding Belonging in a Chaotic World

Finding Belonging In A Chaotic World

Findin Belonging In A Chaotic World

Finding yourself, your place series is about defining who you truly are and where you belong in the amidst of a chaotic and unsettling world. Ever feeling lost in a crowd of strangers?

Introduction

Have you ever found yourself surrounded by strangers, searching for a familiar face but seeing none? In that moment, the world feels distant, like you don’t belong anywhere, and loneliness presses in.
Here’s the truth: you are not alone. Countless others wrestle with the same thoughts and feelings—even if they don’t always show it.

“Where do I belong?” is probably the most fundamental question we ask ourselves. It’s the quiet thought that lingers in our hearts when we feel out of place, or the loud cry inside when life seems confusing. Deep down, every person longs for a sense of belonging—a place where they are accepted, valued, and understood.

But belonging is more than just fitting in. It’s not about wearing the right clothes, acting the right way, or pretending to be someone you’re not. True belonging comes when you discover who you really are and live out that identity with confidence.

Finding Yourself

You begin by discovering who you are. Defining yourself—not by labels, not by expectations, and certainly not by pronouns.
• If you are curious about the world, are you a traveler?
• If you read to understand, are you a reader?
• If you love Mathematics and Physics, are you a physicist?
• If you enjoy drawing and the arts, are you an artist?

The real question is: Who am I?

Are we defined by what we do, by what we love, or by the passions that drive us? Or is our identity something deeper—something that cannot be captured in a single word or role?

Sometimes the answers are not clear, and that’s okay. The important thing is to keep asking questions, exploring, and giving yourself the freedom to grow into the person you are meant to be—beyond labels, expectations, and the judgment of others.

Reflection Prompt:
• Make a list of three things you love doing most.
• Ask yourself: do these things define me, or do they reveal pieces of me?

Journaling Prompt:
• Write a short reflection on how these activities connect to who you are becoming.

Mystery of Life

Mystery of life transforms your outlook and perspective in a split second, from ordinary to extra-ordinary. Here I am, back behind the computer desk typing away once again. Two years after I last penned my thoughts, I return to writing again. The lockdown in California drew me to the backyard by these tiny creatures, sharing our resources.

How Mystery Struck

How it started was nothing short of an ordinary mundane morning and yet extra-ordinary because my eyes spotted a tiny creature, motionless and it almost felt dead. In the next instance, my life changed. My perspective differed and the implication was profound.

From an intense love for macro photography to an addiction to gardening. From a woman often questioning about herself, full of self-doubt, to growing confidence and realizing a potential she never thought she has.

That tiny creature turned out to have a name. I later found out that it was a painted lady butterfly. Through the lens, I saw her eyes, the patterns on her wings, her long curly tongue and her hairy legs. In that instance, I declared she was beautiful.

Mystery of life That Seeks Perfection

The next day, I spent an hour each morning for an entire year, just to catch a glimpse of tiny creatures in the backyard. At the same time, in my best effort, I learned to capture thousands of images just so I could obtain that one perfect shot. Perfection drove me on from one to another and before I knew it, I had about a dozen captures. Over time self-doubt left me and as a result, I became passionate in macro photography.

I started working on my mother-in-law’s front yard garden while hoping to attract new species. I put my vision onto the paper and with some assistance from my husband, I finally saw the fairy garden came to live.

Welcome To Daughters of the Almighty

Our Welcome Note:

Our primarily focus is to share God’s love through our thoughts and lives. Why is God so important to us? In our world today, many hunger for some one to love and care for them. The Bible in 1 John 4:8 says: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” The reason we are able to express love is because God first loves us. He taught us how to love. In gratitude, we would love to extend His love to you as well.

DOTA is here to uplift, inspire, encourage and bring comfort to those who are hurting, in grief, spiritually lost, those who simply needed a hand to move forward in life, through the Bible to point others to God. DOTA exists because we are daughters of the Almighty God. We being women, in the obscurity, we do have a voice that chooses to bring praise and honor to God. DOTA hopes in doing so, brings honor to His name.
